Harare City Council has been issuing demolition notices for structures built without approval, mostly on land reserved for schools, clinics, wetlands, roads, and other public amenities. The list keeps changing because council says they’re targeting “illegal settlements” across the city, but here are the areas that have been named most recently in council notices + media reports:

*Important notes:*
1. *Status*: Govt halted demolitions without 4 months notice. Mayor Mafume said demolitions are “on hold” while council consults the Ministry. So notices have been issued but not all demolitions are happening yet.
2. *Reason*: Council says structures are on wetlands, school/clinic sites, road reserves, or lack approved plans.
3. *Advice*: Council urges residents to verify stands at district offices before buying. If you got a notice, check with City of Harare Dept of Works/Planning for your specific stand. 8447db02feb600ac056b
